OVERVIEW OF DELIVERY SERVICES
Delivery Services handles all mail for the central campus. Student mail is delivered directly to each college by the United States Postal Service. Daily mail volumes handled average:
- 8,000 pieces of incoming mail
- 8,000 pieces of outgoing mail
- 1,500 pieces of campus mail
Delivery Services acts as a liaison for Rice University with the U.S. Post Office, Federal Express, and Office Depot office products. Services provided include:
- Collection and distribution of incoming mail.
- Processing of all outgoing campus mail.
- Campus USPS Post Office (extension 2538) offering full services for personal and departmental use, including large quantities of decorative and commemorative stamps.
- Express and Priority Mail services.
- Special Services - certified, registered, insured, special delivery, international mail
- For Profit and Nonprofit Standard Mail mailings.
- Business Reply Mail artwork and return processing.
- Federal Express centralized distribution and collection of packages.
Other services available include:
- Hot shot deliveries between departments for a flat fee of $20.00
- Office Depot for on-line ordering and departmental deliveries.
- Copy paper for sale for same-day delivery.
- Campus Mail one-time and multi-use envelopes (letter and flat) for purchase.
- Campus Mail multi-use recycled available free of charge (letter and flat); Call for quantities needed.
- Remanufactured and new toners for sale at discounted prices. Cartridge recycling provided.
- Campus directories and Southwestern Bell telephone books available.
- Blue Books (test booklets) available in 12 and 24 pages for sale to departments.
